Can I be gay and still be a Christian?

Yes.

Max Lucado says that "God loves you just the way you are but too much to leave you that way."

It's true. God loves you no matter what's wrong, no matter what you do, no matter what you fantasize about.

It's also true that He wants you to be holy. Only He can make you holy. As I Corinthians 13 says, "If I give all I have to the poor and surrender even my body to be burned, but have no love, it profits me nothing." It gets me nowhere! On the other hand, you can have more problems than anyone else in your city but love God with all of your heart, and you will be saved a seat next to Him at the end of the world.

God not only accepts those who are broken and sinful -- He favours them!! Jesus loved prostitutes and thieves. You can better he loved gays, too.

It might not look like it, but every Christian you know is just as messed up as you are! Their sins may be more socially acceptable or more subtle. They may be hiding secrets worse than yours. And God loves them like crazy!

Let me let you in on something...God will never love you more than He does right now. You will never be more saved than when you first ask Him into your heart. What you can be is healthier and more of a blessing to others. And that's why God wants you to find healing. He's not waiting to love you until you're straight.

In fact, the Church needs more homosexuals. Whether they're post-gay, struggling through the process of change, or just off working the streets. God wants every one.
