Is being gay a sin?

Homosexuality is just one example of the disorder of sin.

In Genesis, the Bible tells the story of how sin messed up His good world. The rest of history is our efforts to deal with the destruction.

In our sinful world, everything is confused, turned upside down. Love can be evil if it selfish or possessive or controlling. Sex -- originally a blessing from God -- can be a curse if it is done outside of marriage.

Homosexuality is one more example. Homosexual attraction is what happens when the good desire to make friends with others like you becomes confused.

It might be too "brainy" for younger readers to understand sometimes, but what it means is this: sin is like being sick. It's a disease that makes us think and feel upside down. Homosexuality is one way that those upside down feelings show up.

God wants you to know that He is original plan was for you to have great close friends of your own gender and to have an awesome sexual relationship with one special person of the opposite sex. Anything else is a confused life brought about my the sin disease.

But that doesn't mean that God is mad or rejects you. Not at all. As you keep reading, you'll see that He loves you a lot! He just wants to heal you from the sickness of sin. And it will take a long time, but you can be healthier.
